Memory Work:

Due 5/13:  Faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.  Romans 10:17

 

Bible Lesson: 

We will be learning about Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit comes to the disciples, and how God strengthens us like he did Paul to help build His church. 

 

Math: Students will be learning:      

1st: to write money amounts using dollar signs, identify one half, one third, and one sixth, add 9 addition facts.

2nd:  to write observations from a graph, identify activities that take one hour, one minute, and one second, telling and showing time to the minute, counting quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies.

 

Science: Students will be learning to identify the characteristics of sound and relate sound and the human ear to God’s design. 

Social Studies: Students will be learning to describe what an immigrant is, explain why immigrants come to the United States, and give examples of how they have brought their customs to the United States.  

Reading: Students will be learning: 

1st:  to identify and write questions, share opinions by writing a book review, use varied voice inflection when reading dialog, listen for and write consonant blends.  

2nd: to identify and write questions, share opinions by writing a book review, identify features of a glossary, recognize prefixes and suffixes.

Spelling:

1st: find, kind, mind, boy, joy, toy, boil, soil, spoil

Challenge word: come

 

2nd: look, good, foot, bookstore, sidewalk, took, stood, baseball, daylight, cook, wood, notebook, firewood, shook, football, hotter, nicest

Challenge word: should, would, could
